During my 35 years in forwarding many people asked me why I never started my own company, just like my grandfather and my dad did before me.

I always answered that I didn't like the idea of dealing with taxes, bookkeeping, human resource management, car leasing, buying hardware and software or even just paperclips for that matter. But then I figured out that it can be done differently; I could build my own company but in a modest form, working for myself without too many staff or too much administrative hassle. Starting out working from home, keeping overhead costs at a minimum.

So in 2023 I decided to take the plunge and founded Barbara Kempers Unlimited. Some loyal long term customers decided to follow me, which gave me a running start. Combining both the operational and the commercial side of things was a dream come true after a lot of years of being only in sales.

I’m very happy with the way business has developed so far and have made the decision to take my company one step further and join JCTrans, a global network for logistics companies, that also facilitates safe transactions and settlements.
